A desk converter sits on top of the desk you already have and lifts your screens and keyboard so you can stand. It is a cheaper and smaller change than replacing the whole desk, but it has limits. The keyboard tray needs to rise far enough to reach your standing elbow height, the top must be wide enough for your monitors, and the load rating has to cover them. Lift type matters too: gas springs are quick and need no socket, while electric converters move at the press of a button and can remember heights. This guide compares six converters from VIVO, Ergomaker, VersaDesk, Vari and Flexispot on width, lift type, height range in centimetres, load in kilograms and the keyboard tier. All facts come from the listings, with gaps flagged.

In its favour
- At 106.7 cm wide, the top has room for two monitors side by side.
- The keyboard tray runs the full width and rises in sync with the top surface.
- It lifts straight up, so it does not push forward into your space, and VIVO states a 3-year warranty.
