Desk converters
A desk converter sits on an existing desk and lifts your keyboard and screen. The key figures are the lift range in cm, the platform size and the load it can hold.
- Typical lift
- 11 to 50 cm
- Typical load
- 10 to 15 kg

Add the converter's lowest and highest platform height to your desk height to see whether it reaches your standing elbow height. Many have a separate keyboard tray a few cm below the top deck, which helps keep forearms roughly horizontal.
Compare the platform width in cm against your screens, the load rating in kg, and whether it rises straight up (Z-lift) or moves forward as it rises, which needs more depth on the desk.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting to add your existing desk height to the converter's lift range.
- Choosing a riser that moves forward into a shallow desk or a wall.
