The Flexispot M4B is not a desk at all. It is a riser that sits on top of a corner desk you already own, shaped to tuck into a cubicle or office corner. For anyone who cannot replace their furniture, such as people in rented flats or shared offices, it is a way to stand while working without moving a thing. The removable keyboard tray and gas-spring lift are what make it different from flat converters.

In its favour

  • It is shaped to fit most standard cubicle corners and sits on top of the existing desk.
  • It rises straight up within its own footprint, so it needs no extra space behind.
  • Flexispot states a fatigue test of 6,000 height adjustments.

Good to know

  • The 35 lb (16 kg) load limit is low for two large monitors.
  • The listing gives levels but not the height range in centimetres.

Our take

How the riser moves

Squeezing the handles releases a gas spring, and the worksurface floats up or down to one of 12 height levels. There are no motors and no cables to plug in. Flexispot says it rises straight up within its own footprint, so it does not swing forward into your lap, which helps in tight cubicles.

The firm states a fatigue test of 6,000 height changes, which gives some reassurance about long-term durability of the spring.

Size and weight limits

The unit is about 95 cm wide and 61 cm deep, with a hexagonal outline designed to fit standard corner desks. It weighs 27.6 kg on its own, so lifting it onto the desk is easier with a second person.

The load rating is 35 lb, roughly 16 kg. That is fine for two lightweight monitors on their stands, or one screen and a laptop, but large gaming monitors or heavy arms will push it. The work surface is medium-density fibreboard that, per Flexispot, meets California Air Resources Board emission standards.

Living with it

Because the keyboard tray detaches, you can set it lower than the monitor shelf for a more natural wrist position, or remove it to free up space. The listing gives levels but not the actual range in centimetres, so check the height of your current desk and add it to what you need. A gas spring is quieter than a motor and needs no power, though it relies on your hand to move it each time.

When a full corner desk makes more sense

A complete motorised option like the HSSTYLE L-shaped desk raises the whole surface and carries far more weight, but you would be replacing your furniture. The POKAR L-shaped frame is another route if you already have a corner top and want electric lift. The Flexispot riser is the choice when the desk stays and only the working height needs to change.

Verdict

The M4B is right for people who must keep their existing corner desk and run light monitors. If you can replace the desk and want electric lift with more weight capacity, the HSSTYLE L-shaped desk is a better long-term setup, and the POKAR frame suits anyone reusing their own L-shaped top.
