The Sihoo M59AS is an inexpensive way to try a split-back chair. Its backrest is made of two separate halves that follow the curve of your back independently, and a lumbar pillow adapts automatically as you move. The armrests are linked to the back and flip up out of the way. It suits people curious about dynamic back designs who do not want to spend premium-brand money.

Our take
Dual back and adaptive lumbar
Two separated back sections give each side of your spine its own support. As you twist to reach a drawer or lean on one elbow, each half can move with you. The adaptive lumbar pillow adjusts itself to the movement of your body, so it keeps contact whether you sit upright or slump slightly. There are no manual lumbar controls listed, which keeps operation simple but means you cannot override its position.
Seat and armrests
The seat is wide and saddle-shaped to follow the curve of the hips and thighs, covered in a breathable mesh that Sihoo calls dragon mesh. Seat depth adjustment is not mentioned.
The 3D armrests move forward and back and left and right, and are linked to the backrest so they continue to support your arms at any tilt angle. They also flip up by 80 degrees to slide under a desk or make room when playing a guitar.
Strength and practical details
Sihoo states BIFMA and SGS certification, a 1,136 kg hydrostatic pressure test and a 150 kg user rating. Amazon lists a reinforced aluminium base and a weight of only about 14 kg, which makes it easy to carry upstairs. The listing does not give a recline angle or a warranty length. Care is spot cleaning.
Comparing split and flexing backs
The Hinomi H2 Pro also uses a split back with adaptive lumbar, but adds manual depth and tilt control, a headrest and 19 settings in a much larger chair. The Sihoo M57 is the brand's simpler single-back design with a headrest and fixed S curve. The Steelcase Series 1 offers a flexing back with fuller adjustment and a long warranty.
Verdict
Choose the Sihoo M59AS if you want a light, split-back mesh chair with self-adjusting lumbar and flip-up arms. If you want manual control and a headrest too, the Hinomi H2 Pro is the fuller package, and the Steelcase Series 1 is the pick if long-term warranty cover matters most.
