Our take
Moving and storing it
Castors are the key difference from most complete desks. They let you roll the desk out of the way when a guest room needs to be a bedroom again, or slide it closer to the window for daylight. The side bag holds notebooks or a tablet, the hook takes headphones or a bag, and the cable tray gathers chargers under the top. The desk weighs about 17 kg.
Lift range and frame
Height runs from 72 to 120 cm, enough for most adults to sit and stand comfortably. The frame is carbon steel, which Maidesite says is 50 percent thicker than average, rated to 80 kg. The listing does not say whether one or two motors are used.
Controller and safety
Two memory presets cover one person's sitting and standing heights, or one height each for two users. The child safety lock stops the desk being raised by accident, and anti-collision stops and reverses it if it hits an obstacle. Maidesite quotes assembly in under 20 minutes with the included tools and pre-drilled holes, with no electrician needed.
Is 120 x 60 cm enough?
The 60 cm depth is fine for a laptop or one monitor and keyboard, but a large screen will sit closer than ideal. If you need more room, the Maidesite 140 x 70 cm desk adds width and depth with the same extras. The Huanuo glass top desk is smaller still at 100 x 60 cm, with a drawer and USB-C but no castors. Verdict
Buy the Maidesite 120 x 60 cm if you need a compact, movable desk with child safety features and a long warranty. If you want more presets and depth, the ErGear 140 x 80 cm is the better fit, and if you prefer built-in charging and a writable top in a smaller size, the Huanuo glass top desk suits better.
