The EC200 Pro is ProtoArc's answer for people who run hot. Rather than foam under a mesh cover, the seat itself is 100 percent elastic mesh, so air moves through it from below as well as behind. Pair that with full 4D armrests, two-way lumbar and a large 3D headrest, and you have a chair aimed at lighter users in warm rooms who want every main adjustment.

In its favour

  • The lumbar moves 6 cm up and down and 2 cm in depth, so you can set both its height and how firmly it presses.
  • Full 4D armrests move up, down, forward, back, sideways and rotate 30° to meet the desk edge properly.
  • The seat is 100% mesh with 5 depth positions, fitting users from about 163 to 183 cm according to the listing.

Good to know

  • The 220 lb (100 kg) maximum load is the lowest in this guide.
  • No warranty length is given on this listing, unlike the 5 years quoted for other ProtoArc models.

Our take

Breathable seat and depth slide

An all-mesh seat stays cooler than foam in summer and avoids the sticky feeling of a padded cushion after several hours. It slides through five lock positions over about 5 cm, and ProtoArc suggests that fits people from roughly 163 to 183 cm tall. Users near the top of that range with long thighs may want more travel, which the EC300 offers in a different form.

Arms, lumbar and headrest

The armrests move in every direction: up and down, forward and back, side to side, plus 30 degrees of rotation. The pads are about 25 by 10 cm, wider than many, which spreads forearm pressure. Lumbar support adjusts 6 cm vertically and 2 cm in depth, so you can set where it sits and how firmly it pushes.

The headrest is oversized at roughly 32 by 20 cm and adjusts in height, depth and angle.

Recline and assembly

Four lock positions cover 90, 105, 120 and 130 degrees, with seat and back moving together and an adjustable tension control. Assembly follows the usual order of base, mechanism, seat, back and headrest. The chair weighs about 20 kg.

The 220 lb maximum, about 100 kg, is a real limit. Heavier users should look elsewhere. This listing also does not mention a warranty term, whereas other ProtoArc chairs state five years.

EC200 Pro, EC200 or Hbada?

The standard ProtoArc EC200 has a foam seat with a mesh top and arms that only move up and down, but it does quote a 5-year warranty. The Hbada E3 Air uses its own CloudMesh on seat and back, adds 3-zone lumbar and sets recline resistance automatically from your weight. The EC200 Pro sits between them, with the best arm adjustment of the three.

Verdict

The EC200 Pro is a good fit for lighter users who want a cool seat and full 4D arms. If you need a stated warranty and do not mind a foam seat, the ProtoArc EC200 is the safer buy, and if you would rather not adjust recline tension at all, the Hbada E3 Air handles it for you.
